The Centre offers several Vocation Training Courses in order to achieve its Objective of empowering the disabled. The Courses are of one year duration commencing July 2007.

  1. Computer operations (MS Word, Excel and Power Point), D T P, Tally, Interiors, House keeping, Horticulture, Sewing and Boutique - for Physically Disabled as well as normal persons.
  2. Respite care / Sheltered Workshop - for neurologically and multiple disabled.
  3. Home Management program and Self support program - for parents.
  4. Caregiver Course - for normal persons with aptitude to serve the disabled. On
    completion will be absorbed to work in the Centre.

Openings Exist for Co-ordinators, Marketing Executives, Computer and Crafts Teachers. For all positions service minded ladies with experience in Disability NGOs, conversant with Kannada and English are preferred.

Talk about school to Paul Samuel and his face lights up in joy. While many like this little boy are neglected due to disabilities, Paul underwent training to overcome his disabilities and today is in a regular school. Tarun, Nafisa, Hemalatha are all children with disabilities who have now joined mainstream society thanks to Balajothi Centre for the Disabled, the institution offering rehabilitation and training to disabled persons.

OUR VISION

To start a residential program on the outskirts of the city with plenty of open space for physical activities and facilities for vocational training and live there along with the disabled children.
